Calfon Fuerte

Formula

Each ml contains:

Calcium gluconate: 450 mg, Calcium glucoheptonate: 45 mg, Calcium saccharate: 10 mg, Boric acid: 87.5 mg, Butafosfan: 8 mg, Excipient cbp: 1 ml.

Product Description:

The three calcium salts contained in Calfon Fuerte combine the necessary qualities to treat conditions caused by calcium deficiency. The addition of organic phosphorus to its formula stimulates metabolism and improves calcium utilization. It has excellent tissue tolerance at the site of application.

Route of administration:

Calfon Forte can be injected subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously. Subcutaneous Calfon Forte is recommended for pigs.

Dose:

  • Equines and cattle of 500 kg body weight: 80 to 100 ml
  • Pigs, sheep, goats, foals, calves from 50 to 100 kg of body weight: 20 to 30 ml
  • Piglets, dogs, lambs and goats: 2 to 3 ml

The dose is increased or reduced depending on the weight of the animals.

Additional information:

Indications

Calfon forte is indicated for:

•Hypocalcemic paresis before, during and after delivery or throughout breastfeeding (milk fever).

•Paresis of various origins (for example, deficiency diseases in cattle, sheep and goats, particularly in animals in an advanced stage of pregnancy).

•Allergies, toxicosis, neurosis (e.g., puerperal hemoglobulinemia, hypocalcemia in pigs and dogs, petechial fever, urticaria, anaphylaxis, rash, pododermatitis, hematuria).

•Conditions caused by general metabolic disorders (e.g., repeat cows, weakness of uterine contractions in the initial phase and in the state of expulsion of the fetus).

•Calcium metabolism disorders (e.g. rickets, osteomalacia, weakness in newborns, acetonuria).

•Other indications, for example, as an aid against bronchitis accompanied by heavy secretion. Myoglobinuria in horses (lumbago).

• Liver protection against carbon tetrachloride poisoning (following treatment for flukes), lead and fluoride poisoning, drug poisoning, oxalic acid poisoning, tartar emetic, chlorinated hydrocarbon-based insecticides, and other chemicals (DDT, lindane, etc.).

Intravenously , inject Calfon forte slowly, as rapid administration may cause cardiac arrest.

Species: bovine, equine, ovine, caprine, porcine, canine and feline.

Before using the product, warm it to body temperature.

Metabolic disorders due to mineral deficiency in animals are generally caused by a diet deficient in minerals, or perhaps, despite the presence of minerals, by their chemical forms being difficult to assimilate or by unfavorable relationships with each other. Therefore, in addition to emergency therapy, it is also necessary to address the causes of the disease, that is, to improve the diet and supplement the existing diet with mineral supplements rich in phosphorus and vitamins A, D, and E.

To this end, Bayer recommends the use of Catosal with vitamin B12, Vigantol ADE fort, and Calform in cows as preventatives, as well as the administration of Superbayphos and Magnaphoscal as a source of minerals.

Features & Compatibility

Calfon Fuerte Injection 500ml

Calfon Fuerte Injection 500ml is an advanced, high-potency veterinary calcium and mineral restorative formulation meticulously engineered to correct acute calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus deficiencies, stabilize neuromuscular function, and facilitate comprehensive physical recovery in large animals and equines operating under rigorous professional veterinary care. Combining a concentrated blend of calcium borogluconate, magnesium hypophosphite, and dextrose within a specialized, sterile aqueous vehicle, this professional-grade therapeutic preparation delivers targeted metabolic support designed specifically for animals confronting milk fever (parturient paresis), hypocalcemia, tetany, transport stress, or complex recovery challenges. Because of its potent formulation and profound physiological impact, the administration of Calfon Fuerte Injection requires precise clinical diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and strict adherence to professional veterinary guidelines.

What Is Calfon Fuerte Injection 500ml?

Calfon Fuerte Injection 500ml is a specialized veterinary therapeutic compound formulated for parenteral administration under professional clinical supervision.

Active Ingredient and Formulation

  • Active Components: Contains a precise, high-potency balance of calcium borogluconate, magnesium hypophosphite, phosphorus compounds, and bioavailable dextrose engineered to restore normal serum electrolyte levels, support cardiac contractility, and normalize neuromuscular transmission.

  • Vehicle and Presentation: Formulated in a pharmaceutical-grade, sterile aqueous injectable solution supplied in a secure multi-dose 500 ml glass or collapsible infusion vial designed for controlled veterinary dispensing and administration.

What Is Calfon Fuerte Injection 500ml Used For?

Primary Veterinary Indications

  • Electrolyte and Metabolic Resuscitation: Routinely utilized by equine and bovine veterinarians and professional animal caretakers to treat acute hypocalcemia, parturient paresis (milk fever), grass tetany, and associated metabolic disorders in large animals.

  • Convalescence and Recovery: Formulated to assist animals recovering from debilitating systemic illness, major exhaustion, physical trauma, or prolonged stress where mineral imbalances compromise cardiac and muscular function.

  • Physical Conditioning Support: Supports metabolic stability and rapid recovery following heavy exertion, transport, or metabolic stress in working or performance animals managed under rigorous protocols.

Administration and Dosage Considerations

Route and Dosing

  • Route of Administration: Administered via slow intravenous infusion, or via subcutaneous or intramuscular routes split across multiple injection sites depending on clinical protocol, utilizing rigorous aseptic techniques to prevent localized tissue irritation or microbial contamination.

  • Veterinary Supervision: Exact dosage schedules, infusion rates, and total treatment volume must be determined and monitored exclusively by a qualified veterinarian based on the individual animal’s body weight, clinical diagnosis, and serum biochemical status. Rapid intravenous administration must be avoided to prevent cardiac arrhythmias or arrest. Never guess or extrapolate dosages under any circumstances.

Important Safety Information

  • Contraindications: Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the active mineral components, or to patients with severe hypercalcemia, hypermagnesemia, or advanced renal failure.

  • Side Effects: Rapid intravenous administration can induce severe cardiac toxicity, arrhythmias, bradycardia, or circulatory collapse. Infusion must be performed slowly while continuously monitoring cardiac rhythm and heart rate.

  • Competition and Withdrawal: Administrators and trainers must thoroughly review current governing body regulations regarding permitted supplementation schedules and mandatory withdrawal times prior to competing performance animals.

  • Professional Guidance: Due to its profound physiological impact on cardiovascular and neuromuscular function, use must be strictly supervised by a licensed animal health professional.

Storage and Handling

  • Store at controlled room temperature, protected from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and freezing temperatures.

  • Inspect solution visually prior to administration; use only if the solution is clear and the container seal is intact. Maintain strict aseptic technique during administration.

  • Keep securely out of reach of children, unauthorized individuals, and animals at all times.
