Features & Compatibility

Fluvet Injection

Fluvet Injection is a high-potency veterinary corticosteroid and anti-inflammatory solution engineered to manage severe acute inflammation, allergic reactions, shock, and musculoskeletal conditions in cattle, horses, dogs, and cats operating under professional veterinary supervision. Combining flumethasone within a sterile injectable vehicle, this professional-grade therapeutic preparation delivers rapid metabolic and anti-inflammatory activity to support animals confronting critical trauma, severe dermatitis, arthritis, or bovine ketosis. Because of its potent pharmacological profile and systemic impact, the administration of Fluvet requires precise clinical diagnosis, individualized weight-based dosing, and strict adherence to professional veterinary guidelines.

What Is Fluvet Injection?

Fluvet Injection is a specialized veterinary therapeutic compound formulated for parenteral administration under professional clinical supervision.

Active Ingredient and Formulation

  • Active Component: Flumethasone, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid with exceptionally high anti-inflammatory and gluconeogenic potency compared to natural hydrocortisone.

  • Vehicle and Presentation: Formulated as a sterile aqueous or suspension injectable solution supplied in secure multi-dose glass vials designed for intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous administration depending on the target species.

What Is Fluvet Used For?

Primary Veterinary Indications

  • Severe Inflammation and Allergic States: Routinely utilized by veterinarians to control acute hypersensitivity reactions, severe allergic dermatitis, insect stings, and anaphylaxis.

  • Musculoskeletal and Joint Disorders: Formulated to alleviate pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, and acute laminitis in horses and cattle under veterinary oversight.

  • Bovine Ketosis Management: Assists in the supportive metabolic treatment of primary ketosis in dairy cattle by stimulating hepatic gluconeogenesis and restoring blood glucose balance.

  • Shock and Trauma Support: Administered as an adjunctive treatment during acute circulatory shock or severe systemic trauma.

Administration and Dosage Considerations

Route and Dosing

  • Route of Administration: Administered via intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection utilizing rigorous aseptic techniques, with the precise route determined by the target species and clinical urgency.

  • Veterinary Supervision: Exact dosage schedules, frequency of administration, and total treatment duration must be determined and monitored exclusively by a qualified veterinarian based on the individual animal’s body weight, clinical status, and metabolic demands.

Important Safety Information

  • Contraindications: Do not administer to animals suffering from systemic fungal infections, viral infections in the viremic phase, active gastrointestinal ulceration, renal disease, or to pregnant animals where glucocorticoid-induced parturition is undesirable.

  • Side Effects and Precautions: Prolonged or repeated corticosteroid administration can induce immunosuppression, delayed wound healing, muscle wasting, polyuria, polydipsia, and iatrogenic Cushing’s syndrome.

  • Withdrawal Periods: Mandatory meat and milk withdrawal intervals established by local regulatory authorities must be strictly observed prior to marketing animal products for human consumption following treatment.

  • Professional Guidance: Due to its potent endocrine and systemic properties, use must be strictly supervised by a licensed animal health professional.

Storage and Handling

  • Store at controlled room temperature below 25°C (77°F), protected from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and freezing temperatures.

  • Maintain strict aseptic technique when puncturing multi-dose vials to prevent microbial contamination.

  • Keep securely out of reach of children, unauthorized individuals, feedstuffs, and animals at all times.
