Because of its potent pharmacological profile and physiological impact, the administration of MAX-Iron Injection requires precise clinical diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and strict adherence to professional veterinary guidelines.

What Is MAX-Iron 20% 100ml?

MAX-Iron 20% 100ml is a specialized veterinary therapeutic compound formulated for parenteral administration under professional clinical supervision.

Active Ingredient and Formulation

  • Active Components: Contains pharmaceutical-grade iron (such as iron dextran or iron hydrogenated dextran) formulated at a high concentration (200 mg/ml elemental iron) engineered to replenish depleted iron stores and support rapid red blood cell production.

  • Vehicle and Presentation: Formulated in a specialized, pharmaceutical-grade sterile injectable solution supplied in a secure multi-dose 100 ml glass vial designed for controlled veterinary dispensing and administration in large animals.

What Is MAX-Iron 20% 100ml Used For?

Primary Veterinary Indications

  • Hematinic and Anemia Therapy: Routinely utilized by equine veterinarians and professional animal caretakers to treat iron-deficiency anemia resulting from chronic blood loss, heavy parasite infections, surgical interventions, or nutritional deficiencies.

  • Convalescence and Recovery: Formulated to assist large animals recovering from debilitating systemic illness, exhaustion, or prolonged wasting conditions where erythropoiesis is compromised.

  • Performance Conditioning Support: Supports optimal oxygen-carrying capacity, stamina, and metabolic vitality in working or performance animals managed under rigorous training protocols.

Administration and Dosage Considerations

Route and Dosing

  • Route of Administration: Administered strictly via deep intramuscular injection utilizing rigorous aseptic techniques to prevent localized tissue staining, swelling, or microbial contamination.

  • Veterinary Supervision: Exact dosage schedules, frequency of administration, and total treatment duration must be determined and monitored exclusively by a qualified equine veterinarian based on the individual animal’s body weight, hematocrit levels, and clinical diagnosis. Never guess or extrapolate dosages under any circumstances.

Important Safety Information

  • Contraindications: Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to iron complexes, or to patients with non-iron-deficiency anemias (such as hemolytic anemia), active acute renal inflammation, or severe hepatic impairment.

  • Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include transient localized pain, swelling, or permanent skin discoloration at the injection site. Rare systemic hypersensitivity reactions or anaphylaxis can occur following parenteral iron administration; emergency management protocols must be accessible during treatment.

  • Competition and Withdrawal: Administrators and trainers must thoroughly review current governing body regulations regarding prohibited substances and mandatory withdrawal times prior to competing performance animals.

  • Professional Guidance: Due to its potent physiological activity and potential for hypersensitivity reactions, use must be strictly supervised by a licensed animal health professional.

Storage and Handling

  • Store at controlled room temperature, protected from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and freezing temperatures.

  • Maintain strict aseptic technique when puncturing multi-dose glass vials to prevent microbial contamination during repeated use.

  • Keep securely out of reach of children, unauthorized individuals, and animals at all times.
